Before anyone orders food, they order coffee. It’s the first thing that lands on the table, the first impression we make — and it’s the reason we chose Ozone Roasters from day one.
We serve Ozone Coffee Roasters at Beans & Blues, and if you’ve sat at one of our tables with a flat white in hand, you’ve already tasted why.
Who Are Ozone?
Ozone started in New Zealand and set up their London roastery in Shoreditch, where they source, roast and deliver some of the most carefully produced coffee in the city. They work directly with farms — often visiting them in person — and roast in small batches to keep quality consistent and traceable.
They’re not a volume roaster. They’re a craft roaster. And that distinction matters when every cup you serve carries your name on it.
Why We Chose Them
We looked at a lot of roasters when we were setting up Beans & Blues. The decision came down to three things: taste, consistency, and values.
On taste — Ozone’s espresso has a natural sweetness and depth that works beautifully both as a straight shot and in milk-based drinks. A flat white made with their beans is genuinely something to stop and notice. That’s what we wanted our customers to experience.
On consistency — specialty coffee lives and dies by consistency. A roaster who delivers different results from batch to batch creates problems for a kitchen team trying to dial in the same extraction every morning. Ozone’s quality control is exceptional.
On values — Ozone publishes their sourcing relationships openly. They pay above commodity price, support sustainable farming practices, and don’t hide behind vague “ethically sourced” labels. For us, that alignment matters.
What You’ll Taste in the Cup
Our espresso blend is designed for balance — notes of dark chocolate and caramel with a clean, rounded finish. It cuts through oat milk beautifully and holds up well in an Americano without turning sharp or bitter as it cools.
If you usually add two sugars to your coffee, try it without. You might not need them.
Coffee at 7am in Muswell Hill
We open at 7am every day. For a lot of our regulars, that means we’re the first thing that happens to them in the morning. We take that seriously — which is exactly why we’re not cutting corners on what goes in the cup.
Come in for a coffee. Stay for breakfast. We’re at 237 Muswell Hill Broadway, N10 — open every day, 7am to 8pm. Book a table or just walk in.
